Course Description
Each year, more than one million people are diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The incidence in the United States has doubled in the last decade due to the increase in the number of patients with viral hepatitis. This course is designed to update physicians in the specialties of gastroenterology, oncology, surgery, radiology, pathology, and primary care regarding the surveillance and early detection of hepatocellular carcinoma in high risk populations, current diagnostic modalities, novel thera peutic options, and criteria for liver transplantation.
Objectives
At the completion of the program, participants should be able to:
- Recognize high-risk populations at risk for the development of HCC
- Describe the natural history of HCC and outcomes of the disease
- Identify ima ging modalities used in diagnosing HCC and interventions used for treatment
- Distinguish criteria for liver resection and transplantation in patients with HCC

Tuition: $25.00 (non-re fundable). Includes course mate rials, full breakfast, lunch, and parking. Overnight parking for hotel guests is not included. Directions and parking information will be sent to registrants prior to the program. Please register early. Space is limited and on-site registration may not be available if the course fills.
