Clinical Trials for Hepatocellular Carcinoma
- The Norris Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute (NCI) Regional Comprehensive Cancer Center which allows Norris to be a leader in pioneering new therapies in the treatment and prevention of hepatocellular carcinoma.
- Clinical trials offer new or novel therapies for patients with liver cancer, and provide the patient with a wide variety of options when facing treatment choices.
- There are multiple trials for HCC in both first and second line therapy for patients with metastatic or unresectable disease. There is multi-modality therapy available. Development of prevention trials for patients at risk for HCC.
- The goal of our clinical trial research is to identify molecular correlates that predict response and toxicity to chemotherapy, as well as identifying patients that may benefit from treatment. This way our goal is to be able to identify the patients who will respond to a particular therapeutic.
