Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
USC Liver Cancer Program
Jennifer Pena is a board-certified nurse practitioner for the USC Liver Cancer Program at USC University Hospital. She obtained her BSN from California State University, Los Angeles, and her MSN/ NP in Acute Care from University of California, Los Angeles. She joined the team in 2002 bringing with her 7 additional years of liver transplant experience, including ambulatory, emergency, and critical care.
Jennifer works directly with the hepatologists, Drs. Fong, Kahn, Donovan, and Mendler, and collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team including oncologists, radiologists, and transplant surgeons. Her role is to provide direct clinical patient management and facilitate the coordination between team members in caring for patients with liver cancer. Her additional responsibilities include organization of weekly tumor board conferences, program development, research, staff/ patient education.
