Kimberly Alva is a certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for the Hepatology/Liver Transplant Program at USC University Hospital. She received a BA in Sociology from University of California, Los Angeles, BSN from The Johns Hopkins University and a MSN in Acute Care from University of California, Los Angeles. She joined the team in 2002 bringing with her 5 years of liver transplant, neurosurgery, and trauma experience. Kimberly is a member of several professional organizations including American College of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau, International Nursing Society.
Kimberly works collaboratively with hepatologists Drs. Fong, Donovan, Kahn, and Mendler as well as the other members of the interdisciplinary team to provide inpatient care to pre and post transplant patients. Her responsibilities include direct clinical patient management, administrative organization of the team, research and staff/patient education.
