Role of the Referring Physician

Referring physicians are considered the primary decision-makers, and we welcome your communications and suggestions to enable the best approach to the individual patient. If your referral or inquiry requires initial contact with a clinical staff member, please request to speak to Jennifer Pena, Nurse Practitioner by calling (323) 442-5908 or by e-mail at usclivercancer@surgery.usc.edu.

After the referred patient has been evaluated by our physicians you will be given a written evaluation of the patient consultation. Results of diagnostic tests and follow up visits will be forwarded to your office. If desired, patients can be referred back to you for continuing care, procedures, or additional testing. Established communication is also continued with your case managers and insurance coordinators.
